I was able to handle it but it was at least 100% heavier! I felt like reefing earlier than usual! ;)

I once had a Lugar Leeward 16 and it was rigged with the mainsheet off the stern as I said. I have found a photo of the set up. As you can see that leaves the entire cockpit free (on the Lugar the centerboard truck intruded but on the Sunbird the CB Truck is inside of the cuddy and completely out of the way.

Yes, our mainsheet is run like Michel's diagram, except it starts at a becket above the port block instead of an eye on the transom. From what I understand this will change the forces a little because it pulls down from a different point.. like having a down haul at the end of your boom. Try it, you can always put it back.

Yes try it!!!

It has been raining here...a lot --- I say that because I haven't been sailing and need to get some wind under my wings, but I am tempted to try it as well, because I already have two cleats at the stern... I don't think it would be too hard to add a cam on one of them

but I need to push another penguin off the ice first to see if there are sharks in the water ;-)

Hey FYI
I just looked up the data on the Paceship 12 on Sailboat Data website. There at the bottom was a little blurb "Thanks to Titus Tiger for info etc etc" Cool

I got the info from www.paceship.org they had some Paceships listed, but not the Oakisland, so I gave the guy all the info I had found in my research, a lot from the Paceship site. I alsof found some info from the town where it was built...

I apologize for not being much of an artist but this is the way the Lugar Leeward 16 was rigging
