I looked them up, they can be cat, sloop or ketch rigged apparently. It is certainly the kind of boat that appeals to me.

Cat Ketch?

I agree.. love boats like that. Would be perfect for the mudflats here in South Jersey.

Is the boat a Cat Boat and secondly, is your sailing area close to the Frisian Islands? I just finished a book "The Riddle of the Sands" and the sailing area described seems to resemble the area you sail in.

You`re right!
I`m sailing at the north frisian islands http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/coun ... risian.htmwhile "The Riddle of the Sands" takes place at the east frisian islands.http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/coun ... risian.htm I really love this book!
My boat is a Norwalk Islands Sharpie

The hull is from a sharpie (flat bottom) and the rigg is from a catboat.
The newer NIS18`s have a ketch or a yawl rigg.

Well, you are certainly going to add to this forum, I can tell that already.

Send more photos and don't forget to look at Michel's youtube's of him sailing. Good stuff.

Nice pictures! We can see the advantages of a boat that can dry at low tide. One of the pleasures out of reach of the fixed deep keel boats. ;)

I love sharpies.. they are great boats.

And I am very thankful we do not have those kinds of tides here in NJ

My plans for Scamp arrived on thursday and with the help of Josh I got the building manual. I`ll use the winter for studying it. Building start will be in next spring. My sail number will be 301.

Don't forget to send us updates on the building process.

What do you do during the winter months? I am lucky in that I have a small boat that I can put in my basement garage and can putter around with it all winter. I am also building a model railroad in the basement so from December 1 to April 15th I am a mole hiding out down there!!
