Hi all!
My name is Henning and I live in a small village next to Husum, a town in Northern Germany close to the danish border. Since 2 years I´m the proud owner of Fjordsang, a Norwalk Islands Sharpie 18 who was build by an Navy Captain and launched in 2002.
I work as a technics teacher. At the moment we start to build two Micro Mouse canoes by Cavin Atkin with 13 students. I also want to build am small sailboat who is easy and fast to launch for myself, because our sailing season over here ist very short (from the end of april to the mid of september). I´m looking for informations about the scamp pocket cruiser and I just read the the book "a boat called scamp" and downoaded the scamp article package.

Now this is what I would love to own. My friend that is a beautiful boat.

Tell us about your sailing territory. I sail in a lake in the middle of East Tennessee. My lake is about 60 miles long and a mile wide. It has almost 500 miles of coast line and was developed in the early 1940's by damming the Holston River at Jefferson City TN. We have a "high and low" tide as well since they open the dam in mid September and draw down the lake up to 25 or 30 feet. Its closed again in April.

But tell us about the waters you sail in.

Again, that is a beautiful piece of workmanship.

I have two sailing territories.
The first is the baltic sea south of the danish island of fünen. There you have a lot of small islands and beautiful small old towns but it is very crowded in June July and August. The first picture in my first post shows such a small place in Oktober, in july the harbour will be completely filled with boats.
My second and main sailing territory are the tidal waters of the north sea in a National Park called Wattenmeer:

Our small harbour is situated between Hamburger Hallig and Nordstrandischmoor. The harbour is only about 8 miles away from my house.
There are only a few boats in my area and only the harbours at the bigger islands like Sylt, Amrum and Föhr are crowed. At most other places you need a vessel with small draft. Most parts of my sailing territory have only 6 feet of water @high tide so there is a lot to explore mit my boat.

two questions
Is the boat a Cat Boat and secondly, is your sailing area close to the Frisian Islands? I just finished a book "The Riddle of the Sands" and the sailing area described seems to resemble the area you sail in.
