Re: Evening sail.
You really do turn sailing into an art form.

"The art of sailing"!... I like that! It is part of the art of living in my opinion.
Thanks Lusty.

Re: Evening sail.
Well, after a two week hiatus I tried to go out last evening. It was a circus to say the least! I have a 55kw trolling motor for motive power. As I started from the dock the battery died. So, I was being pushed down the line toward the other boats. I pulled out my paddle and started paddling furiously. Finally I got into the middle of the channel and started to raise the main. Somehow the halyard became tangled around the mast (or so I thought). So, I unhooked the halyard from the main and untangled it (what was really the problem was another story, I had failed to release the mainsheet and it was stopping the sail from being raised to the top of the mast) So, I got the halyard untangled and started to haul it in. It went very smoothly, too smoothly. I had failed to reattach it to the main. So now the shackle is at the top of the mast, my motor is dead and I am in the middle of the channel. I raised the jib and came back in under jib alone so I didn't look like a complete fool!!
Some days are just not as good as other days!!
I did try out my video camera. I afixed it to the mast and just let it run while I was sitting at the dock. It wasn't anywhere near the quality of Michels but hey, it was my first attempt at being a big movie director.

Re: Evening sail.
Sometimes things are not going our way! I have my bizarre adventures too but I don't put them in my videos.
Just to say: I was on the boats deck yesterday and I tripped both of my feet on a line and fell face first on the slip!
I did not hurt myself but I was a little bit embarassed by the incident. I also thought that it could have happened while sailing and I would have ended in the water!

Re: Evening sail.
I went out again today. It made up for yesterday!!. I recharged the battery and set sail early afternoon. The winds were to be kind very light. I was able to sail about 1 mile from the dock. I sailed first to the Island of Barbie's Toes and then to Isle of Mo Rocca. I was only out about 90 minutes but it recharged MY batteries.
I tried some more filming (or is it digiting now??). The files are huge and I have to figure out how to be able to transfer them. Anyway, one interesting thing was there was a pontoon boat a few yards off my beam. There were 3 men and 3 women on board. Every time I raised the camera one of the women would grab the straps on her bikini and pull them off her shoulders. I don't really know what she was trying to do but I intended to show those videos to my wife and the last thing I needed was some half naked women on them.

I am going to send you the bill for my new laptop! When I read this I spewed coffee all over the keyboard and screen from laughing so hardMichel wrote:But don't be shy to show it to us!....Where do you sail?...
For the record I sail out of Black Oak Marina on Cherokee Lake in Jefferson City TN. If you look up their website and go to the Google Earth section you can see my boat. Its the smallest one in the slips!!!!

Re: Evening sail.
My boat last year. I am now at the neighboring dock at the edge of it. I can now leave the dock by sail.
