I got to go out again today. Although the temps were in the mid 80's it was completely overcast so the heat wasn't oppressive. The winds were 4 to 6 with gust up to 9.1 (according to my Kestel Weather Station - I love this thing). There were five other club members out today. My sailing was flawless. I got underway without fanfare, didn't run into anyone or get my dock lines wrapped around my motor. When I tacked I didn't end up in irons. It was a perfect sail. Too perfect. I knew I had to do something to break that spell. So, when I got back into my slip I pulled out the Kestel again to see what the wind was at the dock. It showed zero and I didn't think that was possible so I blew into the "fan" to see if it was stuck. It wasn't and it took off at a very high speed and caught my lip in the vanes!!!! It was like something out of a very bad movie!

But the sail was absolutely marvelous

From now until the middle of November the weather should be great around here.

Thank you Michel. There are times when I almost succumb to "bigger boat" fever but as Dylan Winters said the only difference in the view from a 16 foot boat and a 30 foot boat is the height off the water. I can handle this boat by myself, its paid for, maintenance cost are low and I maintain a certain notoriety at the marina since I am the smallest boat with a slip there!

We love small crafts because we know our true needs. We know also that we don't have to impress others with some possession in order to be happy, or a possession that is some bank's possession really! ;)

Pleasant sailing and a cozy place to overnight when I feel like it is all I need. :) 8-)

I just looked at your video again. It looks like it was somewhat windy and choppy out there. Was it?

Yes! As always in my region it is a bit choppy when the wind is from the north. I is going against the current of the Saint-Lawrence. There was maybe 15 knots with gusts at times. I reef for confort and enjoy the ride. :)
