Re: The 2013 season is officially on!
Well, after being in the water for over a month I finally got to actually go sailing Saturday. It has been raining raining raining here for the last several weeks and when it wasn't I had other obligations to meet. However, all was made good on the 25th. It was my Christmas present only seven months early!!!!
It was as near a perfect day as you can get. Temps were in the mid 70's (that's 24 degrees for you Canadian boaters!!). Winds were out of the North East at between 7 and 10 knots, with scant cloud cover. I went well until about 3:00 when the winds dropped down to about 1 knot. They were still out of the North East and since my slip was to the South West I simply went wing and wing straight back into the marina. There were times however when my Knot Stick told me I was "not" moving!! But, all in all I went fast enough to maintain steerage way and had no trouble getting in. It was time anyway since I had inadvertently failed to check my water supply and was getting dehydrated. I don't know if I could improve on this sail, only hope to match it many times.
By the way Michel, I watched the water and scenery pass when I was moving along about 4 kts and lo and behold it closely resembled your videos!! So, I did good.

Part of my problem was the pictures ha
I didn't want to NOT have pictures so I brought my camera and remembered to use it, so I ended up thinking a bit too much about that. Not sure if this picture of the sail made it worth dropping the paddle over the side, but it is a nice picture of a sail

btw, the main problem with that picture is not the said need to grab the other paddle to bring the first paddle in, but I took it so I could look at later to make sure I had hoisted the main sail all the way up, which the picture does not show

How is this one?
I went out Saturday. It was a great day. Steady winds around 8 kts. It was supposed to be around 85 degrees but it didn't seem that hot.

Here I am rounding the Island of Trina's Dad or maybe its Barbies Toes. I get those two confused.

nice. Storms were passing through my area so I spent it sanding down the hatch and varnishing it.

What do you call two days of rain in the Adirondacks ?
The weekend
Need Michel to bring some sunshine back to the area
