The joy of sailing
I was thinking about Bob Ross with his "Joy of painting"! Sailing is like painting with the wind!...

"Joy of Sailing" circa 1951. My parents. My father was just 6 years out of a Navy Fighter cockpit.

Re: The joy of sailing
Michel, I have been doing some thinking about your recent statement :
"Naturally I am patient, I am a sailor!"
It seems to me that far from being a trivial conclusion, there is an all too rare Zenlike peace and contentment contained here for sailors.
I refer to actual acceptance of a different standard for time measurement and a discipline of living in the moment which might allow genuine "joy" to saturate the passing duration block on the water, whatever may be the length or challenge..
This to me, now that I consider it more deeply, might be one of the key reasons we are drawn to the water world, outing after outing, year after year.
A small mastery of time and life itself, found in nature...?
"Many thousand miles behind us,
Many thousand miles before."

Re: The joy of sailing
As usual nicely done. Also made me sad. It will be almost 100 days before I can get back on the water!! But I go back and look at your videos, put them on full screen, and remember the good days here in TN.
Thank you for the joy you bring all of us.
