Jackie & all of OK...

How are you fairing in the floods? I keep thinking of the boat shed & hoping you don't have boats & cats & little dogs floating away.

Thanks my friends, I am ok and so are all the boats and critters. I was here for first big flash flood. My deputy sheriff who now works as my private security guard (I moved him into my mom's vacant apartment rent free) looked down driveway and said, "There's a two foot wall of water coming down your drive, Jackie!"

My stone mason almost cried after that one but I said don't worry, we'll put a flood wall of stone across entire front of house. So we are and it has handled all the subsequent flash floods of last two weeks. It still flash floods but it goes around house, not through it!

Then I did the intelligent thing, I went to Desolation Sound, BC and spent two weeks cruising with John Welsford on a 40 foot yacht and no cell phone service anywhere, so I didn't actually know if floods were hitting or not. I just got back yesterday, had a wonderful time. Monday the new flood wall gets stone on it and sometime before October we will deal with the back yard and the muddy mess back there. But water kept out of Boat Palace as well.

Go to jwboatdesigns.blogspot.com "From Desolation Sound, BC" and "Back to the Pacific Northwest. Paradise" for a view of what the Oklahoma floods looked like from there. We had a great trip, I learned to row a dinghy and steer a large power boat.
