Yesterday it was 18 degrees. This morning it was a balmy 29. Its supposed to go all the way up to 37. Fortunately my lake (Cherokee Lake, Jefferson City TN) did not freeze but the dock walkways are completely covered in ice. They draw the lake down here in the winter months so the marina is way below the level of the parking lot. Its about a quarter mile from the parking lot to the boats down a ramp that is currently about a 25 to 30 degree heel!!!! If I start sliding down the ramp I get to go swimming in 35 degree water, not a good idea.

you know it is cold when saltwater freezes (yes, I know the salt falls out).. around here, the back bays are frozen mostly solid. The guys who pound the pilings back in during the spring are going to make a fortune, they are popping up all over the place

Get it ready?

I have a vague idea where it was last seen before the snow drifts covered that part of the yard.

I really feel for you guys East of the Rockies. Normally at this time of year in the PNW, the boats are growing algae and the sailors are growing moss. Not this year however. More sun than any winter in the 20+ I've been here.

Aren't we all going to be glued to our screens watching the Everglades Challenge this weekend??? :-)

More snow tonight into tomorrow for those of us in the Middle Atlantic. Forecasting 6 to 10 inches for Atlantic City.
