For those of you needing an adrenaline rush during this time of the year, here are some videos of ice-boating in Wisconsin. All of these are YouTube videos. You may have to cut and paste them into your browser to get them to play. Many of the stern-steering ice boats currently sailing are vintage, many are early 1900's or older. Here in Wisconsin sailors are keeping them alive with rebuilding projects, etc. West System and other products have helped keep many of these boat alive.
TURN YOUR SOUND UP!
Joe Terry:
The first two are on Lake Petenwell, central Wisconsin. Joe has an interesting camera that gives him a dashboard on his recording--video number two. The third video is from a race last Sunday during the Wisconsin Stern Steerer Assoc. regatta on Lake Mendota, Madison, Wisconsin.

The Deuce:
The "Deuce" is the largest ice boat in the U.S. and maybe the world currently sailing. This video was made last Saturday, again at the Stern Steerers regatta on Lake Mendota. It was produced by Dave Elsmo, Head of Instruction, Hoofer Sailing Club, UW Madison. He has additional
videos if you look for him on YouTube.
