Have a 1967 Cal 20 - anyone interested? Did R2AK Stage 1 last year (Team Calico). She’s a tired boat, but a good boat. Needs work - mainly keel bolt replacement.

I fully customized and re-rigged running rigging, leading all halyards and sail control lines aft, and added a traveler and accidental gybe preventers. (This was all per the advice of a solo ocean sailor, Robert Crawford, who raced his Cal 20 to Hawaii [which I also considered doing], and wrote a book, “Black fearhers” detailing his modifications, etc. ) I also installed a hawse pipe on the foredeck for anchor chain/rope, to make cruising easier. Added amidships cleats. Replaced the three separate wooden companionway hatch pieces with a single piece of Lexan (no leaks; lets light below). Replaced lower rudder pintle. VHF radio, incl. an extra one. Sails: main/Genoa/jib (plus spare main and jib), incl. two spinnakers/two spin poles. Bulkhead compass. Extra teak tiller. 100’ or so of 5/16” chain and rope and 20 lb (?) Danforth. Large Rubbermaid plastic tote bins to hold stuff under each cockpit locker lid. Simple 12v electrical system. Two long carbon fibre oars (R2AK rowing propulsion).
A great boat, but a bit tired on the outside and inside since it's an old boat. We've put hundreds of miles on it over the past 7 years, including Race to Alaska Stage 1 last year. Comes with basic trailer (wheel bearings need replacing; I have at home.) I'd love to see it go to someone who'll appreciate the classic Cal 20!
