When out to the boat today just to see her. And lo and behold the Hydrilla was almost completely gone!!!!! I could get out of the slip now. According to the folks at the marina the spray kills the plants and allows the "roots" to sink to the bottom (about 10 feet or so). They will be back in June and you will hear my bitching again !!
Furthermore it hasn't rained in a few days so the boat wasn't full of water. Yes, I keep a tarp over it but when it rains here it doesn't do some namby pamby little spit, it Class A, Deluge, Noah and the Ark RAINS. So even the tarp leaves enough open spaces to allow gallons of water to enter the boat. The boat was dry for a change!
However, I still did not go sailing! The temps were touching on 100 degrees and that just didn't appeal to me. It will be about 3 or 4 weeks before the weather is down in the mid 80's and I will write of my adventures!!

How the temperatures vary! In the high 40s here on the east coast of Vancouver Island, BC (I'm near Sidney in Tod Inlet). Been raining (much needed) and chilly for a couple of weeks. In these parts Mother Nature seems to have switched to Fall.. I'm wanting to start the wood stove bit I've no wood as I'm crossing back into WA today (can't transport wood across boarder).
