I may be able to get one more sail in without freezing to the mainsheet this year. I went out to the boat yesterday and varnished my new dinette table and the bulkhead between the V Berth and the "main cabin". Slowly but surely I am improving the looks of the HenriLina. Its a nice boat and it does sail well.

Michel, I always enjoy your videos (I don't hear the music very well but the scenes are wonderful).

Glad to hear that you are getting along fine with your new boat. I grew very attached to mine as the years passed and it is a good feeling.

Thanks for your comments on my videos. :)

Wednesday is Veterans Day and I am going to take the day off and go sailing. According to the weather report its supposed to be close to 70 with 3 to 5 kt winds, not exactly gale force but not a dead calm either. Looking at the 10 day report this looks like the end of the 2015 sailing season. After Wednesday the highs will be in the mid to high 50;s with rain rain and more rain. While next week end is supposed to be sunny the highs will be brushing on hypothermic levels. Not being a Canadian that relishes ice bergs (no no no, of course I am not in any way alluding to you Michel!!) I think this will be it for the year.

Oh well, that gives me several months of being able to paint and varnish and sit on the boat with a heater going smoking my pipe and waiting for the spring thaw!

Michel, Slogger..
You guys are cracking me up!
Seasick making videos, dryrotted snowtires, pensive pipesmoking, awaiting the thaw ...
Michel, that front door opening and closing was right out of Jacques Tatti ..."Mr. Hulot's Holiday".. Remember that French classic?
Let alone the polar bears!
The power of dialouge, never know where it will lead you!
One question : which of you is the "straight man" ?

Excellent seasonal spins !

That video cracks me up every time I see it. The expression on your face is priceless!!

Dirk, "straight man". I am horrified that you would consider Michel and my postings as anything other than what they are: Contemporary commentary on post modern sailing philosophies!

Either that or we both get far too close to the rum bottles this time of year!

Ok Lusty,
Straightman to you two would be an honor..Lord knows, I am perfect for the the part most days anyway, in my befuddlement.

But I love that you gave a name to what we are all beavering away at here: " Postmodern Sailing Philosophy "!
(Someone should really open a thread heading on it .)

It appears that does put us squarely at the helm though, for winter's duration at least. These wheelhouse duties can be the real plum watches, as long as the coffee is hot and the rum tot upon relief...with a happy crew below between bulkheads building new vessels, for the new season, masters of all we survey..!

Was there any straight man in the "Rat pack"? ;)

No, we are like bears (Again) taking a last look at the sun before getting in a hole to sleep all winter long! Not easy!... :(
