last sail of the season

pictures of Lake Dillon, CO, providing wonderful weather and wind for the last sail of the season -

winds started out light and slowly built all day. for Dillon not 'very' shifty winds nor very gusty.

brought my friends Gary & Nancy along -

they had a wonderful time :D

boat comes off the lake middle of this week

What a place! 8-) It certainly makes the decision of putting a end to the season even harder!

Man last sail of the season. I don't even have my boat in the water yet.

I am working on the rudder just about done, just a little welding and I will be done. I know you can buy the pintals and gungon but what fun is that. I got the sail and 95% of the rigging done. I will have little things to do but they can be done after launch. By then I will have a name for my sail boat. Oh I should register it too.

I will post picture on the first float. I should have a month of sailing maybe more before the water gets hard.

I will loft a mug of Moosehead for you my friend.

By the way Dave, Lake Dillon was listed in one of the other sailing mags, "Sail" I think, as one of the 7 best lakes for sailing in the country. I didn't put much stock in the article because they left out Cherokee Lake in East Tennessee but in looking at your photos I think they may be right!

Well today I finally got the boat in the water. Very light and variable winds I couldn't get close to the photographer sorry for the faraway picture. I posted a slide show on the Scamp thread. Called Maiden voyage of Max. Quite an adventure the maiden voyage is. Like learning to drive a car for the first time. Man was I rusty.
