I was hoping for a last sail today but there was no wind! I did not care about slowly drifting down current so I packed the boat for the winter. I had a nice season.
Michel, Do you remove snow from the tarp during the winter or is your tarp strong enough to support it all. I completely cover my Piper so that no snow melt can get in and crack the gelcoat with the temperature swing we have here.
Last May we moved to a warmer climate and will no longer need to put the boats away. I'm told we can leave them in the water year round here. The Compac 19 is still on her trailer because it's easier to work on her. When the work is complete she'll be splashed at her new home here in Oriental, NC. I'll miss pulling heavy batteries, empting the boat, removing the sails, draining the water tank, fussing with tarps and supports, and occasional removal of snow from on top of her. Wait, no I won't, I'll be out sailing!
