SpinFin Peddle Drives - 2 for sale

Post by nige_os »

We have two SpinFin peddle drives, extended length (3ft from peddle axel to prop axel). They are both unused, they where not finished in time for our 2015 entry so we built our own.

They have been hanging in my garage since.

If anyone is looking for a sleek peddle drive solution for the next race (or for fun), let me know.

Looking for $900 each.

Thanks

Are the Spin-Fins the Hobie devices with the flippers on the bottom? How do they compare in power to a kayak paddle or oars? I'm a little surprised at the cost, but they do look like quite an engineering accomplishment, if they're what I'm thinking. Also, could the 'fins keep up with a long light fast hull like a scull, or does their top speed have its limits?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike -

Maybe this will help. I think Bob Stuart may be the man behind the manu of the SpinFin drives

can you post pictures? Is it just the drives? Or did you do anything toward creating the support, seating, etc.? Crank arms and pedals? If you want to send info to me direct: scotdomergue@yahoo.com
