Come down to the 4th annual Florida 120 small boat cruising challenge May 17th to the 20th 2012. This is a great event with some beautiful territory to cover and wonderful people to sail with. We are changing the route for the 2012 challenge which will run from 8am on Thursday, May 17th until we arrive back on the 20th. We will start at Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze, FL (http://www.cityofgulfbreeze.com/parks/index.html). There is no camping at this park but people can sleep on their boats and there are nearby hotels. On Day 1 we will sail east 30 miles to Spectre Island past Navarre. Day 2 we sail west 40 miles to Sand (Robertson) Island near Pensacola Pass. Day 3 we will sail 25 miles to Grassy Point campground in Blackwater Bay. Day 4 we sail 25 miles back to Shoreline park. I am attaching a picture of our route from Google Earth FYI.

Anyone interested in the Florida 120 is welcome to email me at swscfleetcaptain@yahoo.com, join our facebook group "Florida 120", or join our yahoo group "FL120." The Yahoo group has a lot of important files and information for people including the route maps and a packing list (see attached) for small boat cruising in the Florida 120.

This was one of the sailing trips Mike did this spring in the Red Scamp and he and the Scamp had a really good time, great sailing.

He just finished writing this up for Small Craft Advisor and he highly recommends this to anyone.

We will definately be bringing the Red Scamp to the Florida 120 this year in 2012. It is on our "expeditioning schedule" as Mike had such a great time last year and really loved the sailing. Scott was just here for Sail Oklahoma! and we told him we would be back. He is a great guy.

I understand there is a lot of information on the event on Facebook but I am not a Facebooker yet!

Look for the report on it from Mike soon in SCA magazine.

We have switched over to using yahoo groups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FL120/. All of the information you would ever need is there along with people to answer all of your questions. We have around 58 boats signed up for the event and there will be tons of interesting variety of hulls! Most of them will be sub 20 footers.
