Died yesterday from heart failure. Dynamite came from a background as a fisherman, was a long time builder of small boats and wrote a number of books and magazine articles on building simple small boats ( Build the new instant boats being one book) and model boats. He was an associate of WoodenBoat magazine, and the late Philip C Bolger. His business was almost entirely based upon Bolger designs, and did much to promote the popularity of those "instant boats".
He'll be missed.

Re: Harold "Dynamite" Payson
Sad news. A big name in small boats. Thanks for letting us know, John.
