Wooden Blocks

Does anyone know where I can source some small wooden blocks. I see the ones on Wooden Boat Chancellery but they are too large. I know this is crazy (no one has ever accused me of being otherwise) but I am adding wood to my Sunbird 16. I had a wooden hatch cover made by JO Woodworks, I have added wood trim around the edges of the boat plus the seats etc. I have also rigged two blocks at the base of the mast that allows me to raise and lower the main and jib from the helm. I want to replace those two blocks with wooden ones just for looks. I have not been able to find any blocks small enough to work.

Any ideas?

Here is a link to making your own. This is a nice project that anyone can do with out a lot of tools.

report back with your results. Pete

Here are a couple other links. Some of these blocks seem a little bulky to me, but the first link has a design for one that takes 1/4" line and is about 2 3/4" long overall, and so might be about right for what you're thinking of.

Do I get a grade?

By the way, it took me almost two years to make the galley box that was showcased in SCA. It turned out well but I am not known for my promptness in DIY projects!

Yes. and I will even send you a blue sticky that says EXCELLENT

You can look at it as one of life experiences. If there is a dwell in conversation you can say " Look at my blocks " I can see a look of admiration come over there faces.

After all this How can you not proceed ?

Well, since I have more money than talent and not much of either I purchased some tufnol blocks from Wooden Boat Chandlery in Port Townsend. I received them this morning and they actually look very nice. They were more expensive than Harken Blocks but not that much more. Tufnol is a resin based product that does have the look of wood.

Thanks for everyone's advise on this.
