Working on the boat

Well I have starting working on the Lusty Slogger. I don't have as much to do this year or as much to replace. Its mostly clean up. The boat came with almost no wood except for the rudder and tiller. Liking the look of wood I added some teak cup holders, a mahogany hatch cover that John Owens of JO Woodworks made for me (a true work of art) and I added wood trim along the deck and the seats. Unfortunately, I didn't scarf the trim and there was a small gap between the pieces. Naturally, the jib sheet caught in that 1/8 inch space and broke the trim free. I am replacing the wood and putting a cover over the space this time. I am staining the trim "gunstock" I did about 2 feet of it tonight. Its going to look great. Fortunately I can work on this in my basement so 3 am when I can't sleep I can always work on the boat!!
