The Melon Seed Skiff I purchased from Phil Maynard in 2009 has this neat plastic snap clamp on port and starbord that holds the oars in place when not in use. I wonder if anyone knows a source for this snap clamp that to me looks like something used for wire management.
Thanks
I guess it comes down to where you want to clip it to your sailboat... that is the Kayak one appears to be designed to fit on the skirt rim (or what ever it is called)
I wonder though... wouldn't you want to secure the paddle inside the boat... it seems there are a lot of things that could knock it off your sailboat, including over heeling......
almost seems like it would be better to velcro it to the mast

Yes, I located these other holders too. The one sliped over the kayak combing looks like it stays with the oar while you paddle. Mine is screwed to the inside rib under the deck. The clamp opens and snaps shut with one hand so I can get the oars ready or put them away while the other hand is on the tiller and sheet.
Even Phil the builder of my Melon Seed does not recall the source.
The search continues !
Makes sense... when I first saw it, it reminded me of this cheap bicycle coffee holder that had a clip (what holds the paddle) to attach to the bike and a ring for the coffee
