Thoughts of Kay Ann

I'm generally the busy type, not getting in any reading in until the news has long cooled. It was still with great sadness that I read in the current issue Hugh Horton thanking those readers who offered condolences for the passing of his wife. I've never met you Sir, but you have my heartfelt sorrow for your loss. You see, I had the great pleasure of working with Kay as nurses in the multi-disciplinary ICU at Bon Secours Hospital in Michigan. Her genuine compassion and zest for life was inspirational and still is. She spoke of your passion as well, your love of boating, and I could see her admiration of your skills and exploits as she spoke of the sailing canoes and Cedar Key gatherings. In my sixties now, I can easily forget some of the names of the people I've worked with over the years, but not so with Kay. She was a special lady indeed. She will be missed. God's comfort and Good Speed to You Hugh,
