Cool upgrades

I think one of the reasons I REALLY like my boat is it gives me an opportunity to be an inventor... repurpose, redesign, create a solution to a problem I've encountered.

Let me start it off with a PLB (ACR ResQLink) attachment to an inflatable lifejacket. I cut a hole through the lifejacket using the punch supplied with the grommets on a concrete floor-- the lifejacket material is incredibly resistant to puncture!
I then fed the grommet through the jacket, and then used it to pin a small velcro strap (6" Strap EZ) to the jacket. The strap has a little nylon loop at the end, perfect for the strap of the PLB. This allows the strobe at the top of the PLB to be visible, and the unit is correctly oriented for use in the water. And here it is with velcro secured. [/color]
What's your invention/solution/jury rig that really works well?
