Video - Monterey Cruiser Challenge

The crew of "Dauntless" (Jo, Larry, Myself, and yes, of course...Bosun) attended the Monterey Cruiser Challenge last week. Between Larry coming from Washington, and us driving from AZ...we all racked up around 3300 miles of driving to do this. Was it worth it? Heck Yeah!!! This is a fabulous event, held in an awesome venue, by a great bunch of folks, The Potter Yachters. HUGE thanks goes out to Gretchen Ricker for all her work as the head organizer, and Mike Swartz as race comittee. Spectacular Job Gretchen and Mike!!

We arrived a few days early and got some great sailing in. On race day we were a bit busy so i didn't take any video, but we caught a lot of sailing video before and after the race. There are a few still shots of from during the race I was able to grab off the web that were posted by Carl of "Dagmar". Thanks Carl!

Video is by Larry, Jo, and myself (Bosun lacks an opposable thumb and has dificulty with the camera. I am sure he could figure it out but we didn't want him licking the lens accidentally!)

The emphasis on this event is FUN racing. Well, Really...the emphasis is on friendships, and it shows. I cannot recommend this event highly enough. Next year, come a few days early and enjoy the sailing and sights that Monterey has to offer. As you will see Larry and I visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium...very cool place.
