Goodbye anchor!

I had a nice sail today.
Light wind but it was OK and better than nothing! ;)

When I came back , I anchored at my usual spot and proceded to take the sails down and clear everything
before rowing back to the ramp.
But i was not able to pull that anchor up at all! It was stuck, really stuck!
After I tried all I could to make it unstuck, I finally gave in and cutted the rode.

I will not anchor there anymore! ;)

Must be the weeds! Could you have tied a defense to your rode for retrieval later. Sometimes, what seems impossible might give way to an idea later on. Hope it was not an expensive anchor.

No, that is a muddy spot with almost no weed. It was a very solid object . Maybe some abandoned mooring.
It was not a expensive anchor. It happens! ;)

BTW, I tried rowing in all directions in the hope of breaking it free and I pulled on it so hard that I almost capsized the boat! It was hopeless.

Years ago while fishing in northern Wisconsin, I lost my dayglow orange anchor in 3' of crystal clear water. I spent over an hour looking in the weeds for it before giving up.
