A short video!

Sailing under reefed main only. It was a gusty morning! ;)

It looked rather stable Michel. Thanks for the video. I would estimate your speed about 6 kts. What was the wind speed?

It was very stable! The speed was + and - 5 kts depending on the wind. The wind was around 15 kts and gusting at 18 kts according to "windguru".
That boat is very good and relax when reefed and with the main only. I don't care about sitting outside of the boat at all. I am not into racing and capsizing! ;)
I think I will keep that boat for good because she as good in light air as she is in more heavy conditions.
That is a solid dinghy good for cruising.

Well, it looks like I am getting quite good at judging speed by the wake of the boat! Why is it at 5 kts in a sailboat is "flying" but 5 mph in a car is not much faster than walking!!

When I tell people my boat will sail between 3 and 5 kts they look at me with a look of pity! I think its making good time at those speeds!

I know what you mean about not wanting to sit outside of the boat! The last time I did that the inner hull was full of water and I was trying to balance it long enough to get back to the ramp.

Now, when I first started sailing, in my teens, hanging over the side was great fun and if you fell in, well you just got wet! Now, if there is even a 30% chance of capsizing I go sailing at the clubhouse bar!

My philosophy is that I am a sailor and if the boat is moving forward then I am sailing. I may have to change my destination or my course but I am sailing as long as the boat is moving!

I am in total agreement with you Norman! I really can't imagine myself fighting against a crasy spinnaker in a gale either! ;) I see sailing as a relaxing thing, not an extreme sport! :)

where do you get your music, Michel. I used to do video editing for a living, but it was strictly for educational purposes, so I never had to worry about music
