I don't sail a lot in July! These things are one of the reasons!

Last time, there was maybe 100 of them in the boat, enjoying the cruise and lunch! (I was lunch!)

They usually disappear around the beginning of August or at least get lower un number.

The other reason is the heat! It is a little to much for me when it is 36 celcius with a 42c humidex! ;)

I like to keep sailing a pleasant thing. :)

Ha ha! We don't have rattlesnakes in Canada but we have lots of black flies, deer flies and moskitos! :D

I know what you mean about the heat Michel. We are not bothered too much by flies during the day ("no seeums" close to beaches but not on the water. What we do have more than enough of is those oppressively hot and muggy days. I say its 98 - 98 here in Florida, 98 degrees, 98 percent humidity. That's 37 degrees Celsius. Although I actually grew up in Florida my body can not longer tolerate heat and humidity like that. When I was younger I would be on the lake and I would dip my hat into the water and pour it on myself to cool down. That just doesn't seem to work anymore. I like it about 80 degrees (26.6 Celsius) down to about 65 degrees (18.3).

When I lived in Tennessee I complained because of the cold weather with the sailing season being between April and late October. Now, here in Florida the sailing season is October to April. Maybe I should buy a vacation house back in Tennessee and just go back and forth!

I feel like you Norman! The best time to sail in my region is mid August to mid October. Mid May to mid June is OK too if there is no flooding! ;)
