Swallowing The Anchor

Post by Creeksailor »

Hello to all fellow small boat sailors.

Some of you may be aware that UK based small boat sailor Charles Stock has retired from sailing at 83 due to ill health.

You may like to read an article that he wrote titled Swallowing The Anchor, which can be found by clicking on this link

http://creeksailor.blogspot.com/

The article is a poignant account of a man who having cruised over 75000 nautical miles (without an engine) in his small boat, finally comes to the call of a failing body, that the time has come to call it a day.

Best wishes to all

I was made aware of this fact by reading the Dylan Winter column in SCA magazine. I had read Mr Stock book some years ago and found it to be very inspirational.
I feel sad fo Mr Stock and I understand that we will all see our own moment arrive to "swallow the anchor"
