Last sail for the year

I know the weather is still decent, but my fall vacation is wearing on and I need to do some repairs to spark. As with anything fresh out of being rebuilt, there are always things that need tweaking and fixing. I have a lengthy list to do before it gets too cold.

Taken from Lake Lenape, the only lake local to me. It's not very big and with the water levels down, not very deep. It is, however, a really good place to have issues as you won't need to swim long or sink far. Still, any sailing is better than no sailing.

I was going to try to take a video, but couldn't find my camera. It was in the back of my rover, but looking for a black camera on black carpeting, in and among all the sailing detritus, I missed it

I tried to get a last sail in a couple weeks ago. No wind. My Sandpiper is on its trailer in my yard. Looking forward to next season.

My season is over! It is getting colder by the days here in the north! Times to read and dream about next season. ;)

Get the new old book Josh is touting "Three Years In A Twelve Foot Boat". Ladd is an excellent writer but after reading it you will never venture south of Michigan again!!!

Actually, Ladd is an extremely good writer. This book is much better written than his serial in SCA a few years ago. I am not sure how to explain him, except that he is a bit of a whiner about lost love. Come on man, you meet a girl, 10 years younger than you and then you take off for years by yourself and you expect the relationship to last?

Other than that its a very good yarn, better, in my opinion, than Slocum's or Tristan Jones. He does paint a picture of the mind numbing poverty in much of Central America and you can certainly understand from this the current immigration crisis in this country as the natives try for a better life.

It was 3 degrees celcius this morming! Water freezes at 0! It would not be a good day for a capsize! ;)
