Whoop Whoop
Its back in the water
Whoop Whoop

However, the weather man lied to me. Forecast was no rain and 5 kt gusting to 10 kt. It was no rain but 15 kt gusting to 20!!

So, all I did was motor from the launch to the slip, get the mast up and everything is A-OK as they say.

I feel alive again!!!!!!

I was in Quebec City last Thursday and took this picture. It was about - 20 celcius and there are quasi icebergs on the Saint-Lawrence! I will wait a little bit! ;)

We are usually OK around here at the middle or end of May! The level of the Saint-Lawrence is very high at the beginning of the season and the current can be strong. The good times really begins at the mid June times and we can expect to sail up to the mid October mark or more, depending on the weather.
We have to do the best we can with a short sailing season!

Michel
Your sailing season was even shorter than mine in Tennessee. I could go out by mid April most years and could sail all the way to mid November although bundled was the order of the day.

Strangely, here in Florida the sailing season is almost opposite that. The summer months are generally in the high 90's (about 36c)with winds of 2 to 3 mph the norm. Plus it rains almost every single day. Not long but torrentially!! And while its still possible to find good days to sail its a lot more pleasant starting in mid September until early April or May. January and February have a few 40 degree Fahrenheit days (about 5 degrees Celsius)

This is where I sail most of the times. We see the eastern end of Montreal island and some of the Saint-Laurent islands. It is a lot nicer in the summer! :)

Its beautiful!! I guess its worth putting up with the tundra when you can end up with sailing waters like this!

I would send a photo of my waters but truthfully I don't know how to attach a photo!! This is why I sail, I am a complete klutz around technology!!!

This is where I am currently berth. As you can see it is almost entirely power boats. There is a contingent of kayakers around the bend. They paddle those see through kayaks, strange beast!!

If you look at the video of the storm surge over the dock this is where I am actually tied up! Of course during hurricane season I would be wise to pull the boat. If you look at the more current photos I am right behind the black and white boat. I am the only sailboat except for a Yawl standing in the harbor. Its not the best solution but the water is nice, the people are nice and first and foremost, its cheap! ($80.00 per month, if I were in one of the power boat slips with water and electricity it would be $300.00 a month so I think I am lucky)
