It looks from

that the tsunami is due to arrive in about 90 minutes as far as I can tell. Some reports of much smaller wave by time it reaches right across the Pacific. Please let us know that all is well, when things sorted.
The scenes from Japan are terrible. Our hearts have to go out to those affected.

An update from here in Tokyo.
Things are CRAZY here! All trains have stopped, the expressways are closed, and the airports are closed due to massive flooding etc. The local roads are so jam packed because the expressways are closed and trains stopped that people are just walking leaving their cars in many places. Everyone is trying to call their loved ones to make sure they are ok, so phones are all busy for hours now.
The original earthquake (they are still going on) was a massive 8.8 magnitude and caused damage and fires, but the tsunami to follow was what did by far most of the damage with over two story high massive flooding waves. There were cars, homes, and even a 100 passenger boat being sent out to the ocean by the tsunamis.
most folks are stuck in train stations sleeping for the night with no way to go home. even if they could call someone, they wouldn't be able to get to them because of the traffic jams. so folks are laying in the train stations waiting.
Overall, the death rate is still yet unknown, but the effect on the living is so grave that it will be quite some time before things go back to normal.
We're heading out to the train station nearby to see if there is anyone stuck there to give them warm blankets and food. It's a small station so there may not even be anyone there, since most folks just walk home out here in the country. downtown Tokyo is much worse since many folks commute via train many miles, so they are stuck there.
God bless the folks that lost their loved ones, and prayers to those waiting to get a hold of the missing.

I feel so guilty to be worrying about the Scamp on a mudflat when so many are dead and tragically swept away in Japan. I have been thinking of this all day since early morning when news reported on internet. Things we worked so long and so hard for suddenly seem trivial and even wrong.
May the angels meet them and welcome them.

Just a note to say I heard back from Howard Rice and he is safe in Micronesia, as is his wife in Japan. —Josh
