A Siren 17. We are sailing on the Lake St-Louis, west of Montreal. A real nice playground!

One of the things I like about this forum is the ideas you can pick up. Your friend appears to tape his chart on the bulkhead. An excellent idea. That keeps it from being blown away but its still visible. I think I will do that on my boat (assuming I ever get a chance to sail again in my lifetime!!!)

Yes! It is the area his club races all the time. I thought also that it is not a bad idea to do so.
BTW, I am 100% certain that you will sail again in this lifetime.

Whoop whoop
You were right. Friday night I spend the night on my boat and then Saturday sailed to Persimmon Cove (about 8 miles on the rhumb line but about 12 since the wind is always straight down the lake). Spent the night on the boat again Saturday night and then sailed back Sunday morning. It took me almost 7 hours to sail up the lake because of the tacking and the light winds (about 2 kts) but half that coming back as the winds when I left were at 8 kts for the first hour and a half then boom back down to a 2.5 max!!
All this time on the lake gave me an opportunity to name some features I hadn't named before. So now we have
Barbies Toes
Trina's Dad
Isle of Moe Rocca
The Dry Tostitos (The land between Barbies Toes and Trina's Dad when the lake is drained)
Tranquility Bay
The Gecko (If England can have the Lizard why can't we have the Gecko?)
(A group of rocks only visible when the lake is drained)
House (Think Fastnet)
Miller's Rock (Official name)
Goat Island (Official name)
Persimmon Cove (Official name)
And that is as far up the lake as I have been!
