Aloha,
With Remembrance/Veteran's day in the middle of the week I, got a chance to go sailing with my son on Tuesday. Winds were light (<6 knots) and it was a good chance to get my son(5y) out on an El Toro. The harbor was basically empty (a Catalina 18 and a Rhoads 19). My son loved it and I had a relaxing afternoon on the water.
On a side note, can anyone point me in the direction for putting a Lug sail on an El Toro?
Aloha,
John
Current project: restoring an El Toro for me and my sons.
Future Projects: Build a boat for coastal sailing in Hawaii, probably an outrigger.

Welcome aboard! I just looked up El Toro. That is a small boat for plural sons. Are you going to restore one for each son? : ) Please post pictures of sailing in paradise.

Right now the El Toro will be for me and one son at a time. Hopefully, the boys will start taking the boat out on their own son. It was in pretty bad shape but I am learning a lot about epoxy, fiberglass, painting and the lack if sailing supplies on Hawaii. Still have a little work to do on it
Here is a picture from sailing today. 2 hours hour on the harbor, only one other boat was out; winds 12 knots with gusts to 17. This is taken from a Rhodes 19.
