There is the feeling of Fall in the air here in the Colorado high country. On Friday morning we had our first snowfall. nothing significant ... just enough to require scraping off the windshield.

As is normal the weather did a quick turn and rising temps are forecast - into the 80s in Golden/Denver.

Went sailing on Saturday. Bright blue sky and temps in the mid-60s. A 'good cap of wind' blowing. average was in the low 20 kts with gusts above 30kts.

Those are gorgeous photos. And you do look like you are having a wonderful time.

Still only a couple of weeks to go in that season! I always feel melancholic at this time of the year.

I generally take the Lusty Slogger out of the water the 1st week of November and the next week I regret it as the temps might be in the 70's with 5 to 8 kts of wind on the lake. Then it snows, my Coleus die and that's it until April 15. I keep my boat in the basement and can work on it throughout the winter. I have been known to sit in it for hours just holding the tiller. I was thinking of putting a big screen TV in front of it and playing videos of various sailing clips.

I hope to hanging out on the water until at least Canadian Thanksgiving….Oct 12 or so before it gets to bloody cold.

Then I cry a little and drink a little more…..crying makes me dehydrated!
