Re: Electrical DIY?
Hello. I'm back at it. If I hook up everything as I think it was all lights and instruments work. However, both batteries do not seem to be attached correctly. The meter reads one as charged and one as dead (I switched battery positions, same reading) Really, for a while we will continue to be "fair weather" sailors and I can live with a one battery set up. I would like to eventually figure this out, but having working nav lights and instruments was my first concern.

Re: Electrical DIY?
I just figured out that I can make a diagram drawing and scan it to post here! Sunday I will do that. Then, it will be much easier for you (who have already been very helpful and most patient) to see what's going on. Thanks in advance. ~Dana

Re: Electrical DIY?
I've been following your posts as I plan to electrify my boat this year.
Regarding the photos on your phone. Send yourself an email from the phone with the images attached to the message. Should be able to do this when looking at the picture. One of the icons will step you through the process. My first attempt was one at a time. Then I discovered you can attach multiple images via either messaging or email.
Can be done with all of the phones I've accumulated, iPhone, Blackberry, Motorola clam shell.
good luck
john
ps... Do not check for charge by licking the wire ends.

Re: Electrical DIY?
John, I'm sorry to progress so slowly.. I bet following my posts is like watching a sloth fall asleep.
I decided to stay home today to work on the little boat.
But, I will get down to map out the P19 electrical soon. It seems so simple.
You reminded me that's what I had to do last time with pictures. I emailed them to a friend, who emailed them back in a SCAforum approved size.
Thanks,
~Dana

Re: Electrical DIY?
In the Navy I had a chief that taught the new guys to lick the 9v batteries to see if they had a charge before inserting into testing equipment. He was the same instructor that took a large screwdriver and rattled it around a large magnatron capacitor to be sure there was no remaining charge. Saw it fly out of his hand once from across the maintenance room.
There was no OSHA regulator back then.
