Aquamuse - Sailing Canoe

Post by Snowman »

An interesting design:

As my Japanese is a bit rusty, I was able to use Google to translate the pages of Aquamuse:

http://www.aquamuse.jp

There are also some good videos on Youtube.

Nice little boat.. I always wonder if the fact that canoes have such a narrow beam.. that they might be a little tippy...?

When I first saw this I thought it was Aqua Mouse... would be a good name for a dingy

I had the opportunity to sail an Aquamuse in Oyama Japan in January. I sailed with Sam Akiyama of Aquamuse. Lots of wind, great sailing canoe. I will be sailing the canoe again and writing a review and assessment of it.

Hello
OK. Right now I am in mid stream co-instructing SCAMP Camp 3. I a actually writing the assessment for Aquamuse as the canoes may be imported into the N American market. I had the opportunity to have dinner with the company owner and Mr. Akiyama to discuss this. I recommended a few changes, which they were very open to making. For now I can say this, the Aquamuse is very fine sailing canoe, fast, nimble and well built. Thousands have been sold in Japan.

When I finish the assessment would you like me to email a copy to you? I ask because the assessment will be translated into Japanese and likely published as an article in Japan.

Best,
