After launching Noddy, there certainly is a lot of fiddling to do (fun stuff) as I finish her off. Mary's happy that I can at least do most of it in the garage.
I'm experimenting with different trailering crutches for the spars, as well as tweaking the trailer set up. I definitely need some boards parallel to the tongue for walking out on during launch and recoveries. I still have to add my rub-rails to the hull, as well as the cockpit rails for the yet to be built thwart.
Yesterday, in hopes of finalizing my reefing set up and yard leathering, I trailered over to the Messabout at Fort Worden with fond hopes of sailing. http://www.tsca.net/puget/messabouts/fort_worden.html

As I swung by Boat Haven, the winds were 25 kts gusting to 27 dead out of the south. The bay was a froth of whitecaps and I thought better of launching.
At the ramp at Fort Worden, a strong onshore surge and ramp covered with drifted sand.
A repair to the Beach Shelter where fellowship abounded. I was late so most of the crowd had already departed. The crowd from Whidbey Island left early for fear that the Whidbey-Coupville ferry would shut down, a routine occurrence when the wind picks up toward 40 kts.
As always, Noddy drew admirers from the public. She ended up as the only pocket yachter on display, eager to launch but with a more reasoned skipper.
I just love it here in the PT environs!
Cheers,
Simeon
