Not at the present moment!... ;) Those clips are my sailing souvenirs for when I will feel to old or tired to sail. What is the expression? Swallowing the anchor?... :?: :)

Do you sail on Lake Champlain?

I have not... in fact I haven't really sailed much on any lake..

I had a Chrysler LS 13, 30 years ago and that was in Ohio. I mostly sailed on a river and occasional on Lake Erie..

It must be nice to sail in waters without some two knots of current. As you know, I sail on the Saint-Lawrence. Not the ideal place for sailing because the prevaling wind is often going with the current and it is not easy sometimes to tack back upwind against all of this. But this is my home! ;) Five minutes from my house! 8-)

I can tell you a long... long story about the day I sailed down river and the wind died. it was a day of mistakes

It was one of my first day with passengers (two too many for the ending conditions)

When I launched the boat I thought I was in shallow water, because when I tried to drop my dual keels they wouldn't go down.

As Capt'n Hero:
I jumped over the gunnels to push the dingy to deeper water.... it was about 8 feet deep. I left my hat floating on the surface. Fortunately I had my hands on the gunnel and in panic yanked myself back into the boat...with my hat catching my head on the way back up...

Turns out the keels had a trailer lock on them, that I forgot to remove

How is that for inspiring confidence in the crew

I starting to think about this.

I have a small cockpit and a low sail. Which is to say, I need to be a circus contortionist to make sure I am under the boom.

Add to this the the main sheet connected to the boom and the bottom of the sail boat is just about at the spot I need to be to balance the boat.

I seem to either be able to duck the boom or avoid entanglement, but not both
