I have no choice now..

Post by Art Haberland »

Bought a new sail today, for a boat I have not even begun building. Now I have to build it!

Well.. If that's what it takes to motivate you; go for it. Sometime, all of us need a little push to get going. What boat are you building.

Milgate Duck punt. I feel in love with those little boats after watching way too many videos of them scooting across water my GP would be high and dry in.

I looked it up on Google, Flat bottom, no dagger or leeboard. How do you get it to go upwind. Looks fast.

No rudder either. It's all in body weight and chines. They have a very sharp chine, once they heel over, you have your keel. To turn you shift your weight forward to turn into the wind and to shift it back to veer away. The oar is used to make sharp turns and aid in keeping a straight course.

They also sail in 4 inches of water.

Check out Martin's videos to see how well they go.
