Thank you very much for posting this. I love the shot of you coming up on the bird. I sail in Cherokee Lake TN and we have coots that gather in flocks and its just so much fun to sail almost within touching distance from them. Try that in a power boat!!!

Thanks again

Soulful, many thanks for the video of my boat!

i picked one up last winter and am finding more n more issues in her that the previous owner(s) and kit(she was originally sold as a kit to a guy in Florida) assembler generated/made possible

i am in the process of replacing the balsa core in the floor as well as building a new rudder, tiller, centerboard & motor mount, ALL due to a combination of improper assembly and POOR CARE/MAINTENANCE...

fortunately i have good enough shapes to copy

your post is like an extra shot of caffeine

many thanks, again

lustyslogger, we have coots in our area also and they are skittish little rascals...

as a flock they will flush and FLY LOW in mass to evade a perceived foe

back in the days of my misspent youth we would try to catch them which usually ended up in one of the proverbial WILD GOOSE CHASES

howsumever, on one fine sunny summer's day i was water skiing behind a FAST boat that herded a flock up against the dam of a local lake and as the passed them up I HAD MY CHANCE :-O

I CAUGHT ONE by the neck and learned...

whatever they eat turns BRIGHT ORANGE before they release the undigested portion!!!

luckily my grandfather never heard of this for i would have been SEVERELY CHASTISED(as THE DUKE playing Davy Crockett put it)

thank you for the notso fond rememberies
