Nice fairlead Craig. Imagine that curving with the deck and a piece that wraps over the transom. That's what I'm aiming for.

Hey, I need to get you out on Zephyr to get those SCAMP juices flowing!

Keith -

This is what I'm using, as purchased from Chris at the NWMC Chandlery.
I believe it is the 4" 'Gunmetal Lock Over Handed Lipped Fairlead'. Can't lay my hands on the cost right now but the SCAMP hardware discount did apply.

Not curved but with a shim, it seems to fit decently.

Now if you and Kyle can produce one with a proper fit and finish, I'm sure there would be a ready market through SCA's store for all of us SCAMPers.

Cheers,

Keith,

I like your fairlead idea, but I don't have a resident metal working expert. I am currently thinking maybe a nicely curved piece of HDPE in front of the fairlead for chafe protection. We'll see. And yes, I wouldn't turn down any Zephyr-based motivational moments!

Zephyr just came out of a one year refit. All new paint, larger floor hatches in the cuddy. First day of sailing last Saturday. One reef and blustery in St Helens.

Well done Keith… putting the boat in the water after a full workover must’ve felt so good!! But, you’d better show us that new paint job!!!

Yahoo!! And Show those sweet massive hatches.

Zephyr's got her hatch game dialed in.

Can't wait to get back out on the water scamping, 2 more weeks and we'll be back on the sound. I need to lace my sail up!!!

You come in here flaunting your practically new boat... Nice work! Keep up posted on your cruises.
The smaller the boat the bigger the adventure.

Great color scheme, Keith!
Tell us some more about the new hatches. The ones in the cuddy sole look large given the size of the chambers they access. What do you plan to stow down there?
And the hatches in bulkhead-3; are they large enough for you to reach all the way forward? I fussed quite a bit over that detail on Puffin.
I see you made cutouts in the bottom edge of the coaming, like to make stowing the oars easier?
And do I see a oarlock pad on the stern, for sculling? I'd be interested in how that works.

Please do post more pix of your custom details!

Cheers,
Rob
