Scallywag: What do you think?

Post by jmc »

What does everyone think of Scallywag by John Welsford. Will she be too heavy to compete against SCAMP or will her cabin give her the edge? Will Brent build one right away or wait a few months?

I'd put the odds of me ever building Scallywag (or SCAMP) at 50:1, but I am irrationally impatient for these plans to be made available for some reason. I always liked SCAMP but felt it wasn't big enough to satisfy my 3-person beach/camp cruising ambitions in the Puget Sound / San Juan Islands region (and feel like Scallywag might). The SCA article stated that plans would be available after Dec 1, but I haven't seen them in any of the obvious places. I almost sent a message to Mr. Welsford directly to ask about the release schedule but thought better of it given that I'm not sure I can commit to buying anything more than study plans at this point.
