Dale, I moved the skegs inboard of the centerboard slot 1 inch, I also increased the skegs to 4 maximum inches approximately and had about 3 inch depth by the leading edge of the slot to prevent gunk from plugging it. I added a center skeg at the bow for beaching. Then I covered all edges with 5/8 cutting board type material whose name I forgot.
I dream of the time when I can do an overnight with this boat. I've owned and cruised bigger boats but I think the Scamp is a great boat for exploring and you can park it in the yard when your done.

You've got it, Bob, the Scamp is a great boat. So small, yet so capable.

With all your modifications, I hope you'll do some capsize testing before you go too far from shore. Your boats buoyancy will be quite different than the designers calculations with those open compartments in the sole of the cuddy. (Or, are you planning on making them watertight?)
