Another mixed bag this time as we round the final turn and start making our way down the home stretch. We make some chafe strips for the downhaul and halyard. Some mooring cleats get figured out, and handles dry-fitted to the hatches.

This time we learn a whole new skill, leather sewing! Cutting out the leather, fitting it, and finally sewing it around the mast. Making lots of mistakes (and friends!) along the way...

I have been enjoying your series very much.
As a science teacher, and with your permission, I'd love to show students the value of thinking aloud, sharing ideas, asking questions...
As someone who just completed my jig today, thank you for your inspiration for my own good enough boat!

Another mish-mash fo a bunch of stuff. I test out the rigging, with varying degree4s of calamity. Finish off putting the handles on the hatches. Do some long-overdue organising of things, and sort out the fastenings for the centreboard cap.

I am nowhere near even contemplating the rigging on my build. But you may want to check with some others on this site regarding rigging the yard. I got the impression that many people have abandoned the rigging depiction shown on the plans.
