Off topic - Pays to be nice

Post by Brian N. »

Short start to the story: I ordered a ski rack for my son's car. Since my son has the same car I do (Subaru Outback) I ordered the same ski rack as I have. When I ordered mine it came with all the "feet" and straps necessary to mount the crossbars of various model cars. Unknow to me that feet and straps are now special order.

Short end of the story: I called Thule who manufacture the rack and after explaining in a calm and friendly manner to the agent, she said the straps (what I needed) were $48 each (X4) plus shipping. I calmly explained that the website clearly illustrated the feet and straps, no mention of special order. "Please hold" - usually words of dismay, was followed by "Sir, I'll have those shipped to you by Tuesday, no charge". Wow, I was blown away. Shout out to Thule for their service

That's fantastic. Thule racks aren't cheap but I've been happy with them. Good to know that they will take care of their customers.
