Registration Deadline?

Checked all over the R2AK website, FAQ, and this forum, but haven't found a deadline to register.
So I could go online, register, and pay the fee a few hours before the race, then show up with my boat at 0500 on 4 June and compete, right? Or is there some cutoff? Because if there's no cutoff then there's no incentive to register early, except to get your t-shirt ordered properly.
I think it would behoove serious competitors to hold off registering until the day (or hour) before, that way if something terrible happens to the boat or crew between now and then, or if Oracle Team USA shows up, they can just walk away and try again next year. But if things are looking favorable they can just register online and pay at 0400 on 4 June.
This also keeps cash in their pockets between now and then, and keeps the boat design and crew qualifications under wraps until the last minute...
