Re: No sailing today!

I remember my first trip to Chicago. It was mid 80's in Jacksonville and snowing when I landed in Chicago! Years ago I lived in Chicago Land. My wife had to go to Orlando for a business trip. We added 4 days to the trip and I went with. We left for the airport early because it had started to snow. ...

Re: bought a Montgomery 17

Congrats on the new boat. If your looking for projects for the boat, you may be interested in the following cruising layout from the duckworks site.

Re: Hagoth for sale

Hi Brent, I will have to pass. I started this journey because I wanted to build a boat and to that end, I am about 3k into it so far.

Best of Luck in your endeavors.

Re: Buying a Compac 16

Congrats on the new (to you) boat. I looked the Yankee Dolphin as well. Looks like a nice boat. Looking forward to pics.

Happy Sailing.

Re: SCAMP #419 Build in Canberra, Australia

Thank You.

I got the file. It should get me where I need to go.

My Centerboard didn't come out exactly true to the original design, but I figure it will be close enough, as I am not building an America's Cup Yacht.

Thanks again.
Greg.

Re: Hagoth for sale

Whom ever gets Hagoth will have a wonderful boat. A while back, when you finished Hagoth you had started a new endeavor of modifying a Ford Van into a Camper. Can your provide a link to that build, or was it not the intention to document that process in your usual professional manner? Best of Luck, ...

Re: SCAMP #419 Build in Canberra, Australia

I have access to Drafsight, which made by the same parent company as Solidworks. I don't know but I have a good feeling that if Draftsight cannot open the file it may be able to convert the file. Worst case if you could export to a DXF or DWG file I am sure I could get the information I need from th...

Re: Buying a Compac 16

When I was looking for mine, found many a boat that I assumed had already been sold, because I never heard back from the owners. I found the boat I eventually bought on 3 different sites, for 3 different prices. First one listed it at 8k, second 5k, and the last was 4k or best. One of the boats I fo...

Re: Buying a Compac 16

I looked at the Compac 19, before I settled on the Stuart Mariner. I purchased an older centerboard version. The boat, trailer and gear came out to around 1800 lbs. I didn't want to have to purchase a significant tow vehicle. It only draws about a foot of water (with the board up), which makes launc...

Re: SCAMP #419 Build in Canberra, Australia

Ran out of fibreglass to do the bottom, so it's time to start the rudder instead. Hope you enjoy... https://youtu.be/4a4B4SCA2l8 I am Really enjoying your videos. I did something similar to the your rudder drawing, when I built the Centerboard. I cut 3 pieces of 6mm plywood for each half of the cen...
