Re: Official Crew Available/Wanted Thread (R2AK)

Boat NO LONGER available; I believe she's sold, to be finalized early January. I'm now focused on a new design to possibly build in spring/early summer and perhaps be ready for R2AK 2019. This could be an easy, inexpensive and fun way to do the R2AK in 2018. I've decided not to do it this year and w...

boat available for 2018, an easy, fun and inexpensive option

No longer available; sold, I think; will finalize in early January. I've decided not to do the race this year. I will sell my mostly set-up San Juan 21 for $1000 to someone wanting to do the race [currently on Craigslist for $1200]. Sliding seat rowing set-up is NOT included in the price, but I'd se...

Re: 19 foot race-cruise tri available for 2016 R2AK

Sealark remains available for purchase or partnership. There is still time to have her ready for the 2016 R2AK.

Re: The Perfect Boat

I'd guess the answer is both yes and no . . . yes, and . . . not really simple . . . and probably lots more going on as well.

Re: The Perfect Boat

When you were doing your lower course cruising a few summers back, weeks out, on the "Marsh Duck", what was it that really pleased you about the adventure? A few things stand out for me: simply being out in the wonderful beauty of the natural world - which is especially rich in the Salish Sea; I pa...

Re: The Perfect Boat

Good thoughts! For me the orientation is clear: I'm a cruiser, not a racer. I'm mildly obsessed with creating the perfect boat for myself, for cruising. If it happens to be competitive in the R2AK, that's great, but not really important. I think there are people who are interested in being the faste...

Re: 19 foot race-cruise tri available for 2016 R2AK

Latest thoughts: There's been some interest in Sealark, but nothing concrete has come of it. I haven't put much effort into it. There's an add in the current issue of SCA. If she or her more valuable parts don't sell soon, I'd be open to someone fixing her and doing the little needed further develop...

Re: The Perfect Boat

The "perfect boat" is such a personal matter! I created Sealark last winter and realized during sea-trials that she really isn't the boat I want, so . . . This winter I've designed another unique vessel, a sort of cross between open water rowing shell and very narrow tri, with a minimal cabin like t...

Re: 19 foot race-cruise tri available for 2016 R2AK

My thinking has developed further. I know the sort of boat I want - much smaller than Sealark. I'd much rather be working on a new project than spending time and energy on Sealark. So, I want to sell her, all or parts. Consider me a MOTIVATED SELLER! I'm ready to sell her for FAR less than I spent, ...
